You're Allowed to Do Business Differently
There is no shortage of people online telling you how you should run your business.
Post every day. Wake up at 5 AM. Build a team. Scale to six figures. Create multiple income streams. Work harder. Do more. Be everywhere.
And when you're constantly seeing other people's businesses online, it's really easy to start thinking you're doing something wrong if yours doesn't look like theirs.
But you're allowed to do business differently.
Maybe you don't want a seven-figure business. Maybe you don't want a team of ten people. Maybe you don't want to work 60 hours a week or build a personal brand that requires you to share every detail of your life online.
Maybe you want enough clients to pay your bills comfortably while still having time for your family.
Maybe you want Fridays off.
Maybe you want to be able to take your kids to an appointment without feeling guilty about stepping away from your computer.
Maybe you want to have time to work out, go to church, sit down for dinner, or spend a quiet morning with Jesus without feeling like you're falling behind.
That doesn't mean you're not ambitious.
It means you're defining success for yourself.
I think we get into trouble when we start measuring our businesses against someone else's goals. Someone else's six-figure year might be exactly what they're called to pursue. That doesn't automatically mean it's what you're called to pursue.
And the same goes for social media.
You don't have to be on every platform. You don't have to post every day. You don't have to copy the latest trend if it doesn't feel like you. You don't have to build a business that requires you to constantly perform online.
You need to find what works for your business and your life.
So here's something to think about: if you knew no one else would ever see your business, what would you actually want it to look like?
How many hours would you work? How many clients would you take? What would your schedule look like? What would you want your business to make possible?
Write those things down.
Then look at your business today and ask yourself where the two don't match.
You might find that you don't need to work harder.
You might just need to build differently.
There is nothing wrong with wanting a successful business. Just remember that success doesn't have to look like someone else's Instagram post.
You're allowed to build a business that fits the life you're actually trying to live.
Your business doesn't need to look like everyone else's online. If you're ready for a social media strategy that actually fits your business and your life, let's chat.
